Membership

Our cooperative has a growing membership of over 6000 member-farmers all from the three districts that compose the Greater Kamuli district (Kamuli, Buyende and Kairo districts) working together to improve their livelihoods and contribute to the local economy.

Business model

Our cooperative operates on a Village Populous Model (VPM) based on the bottom-top approach where Farmer Field Facilitators (FFFs) are designated at Village, Parish and Sub County level with communal coordination committees to bridge the service accessibility gap between the cooperative and Individual farmers all-over the Greater Kamuli districts.

The cooperative seeks to enhance Commercialization and agro-industrialization of Grains as well as Cereals production in the Greater Kamuli district and beyond through enabling farmers to access genuine agro inputs, extension services, agricultural mechanization, education and training, bulking, value addition and linkage to both local and international markets. Our core mission is to promote food security, reduce unemployment and increase household incomes of the practicing rural communities through bulking member-farmers produce and collective marketing.

Empowering Farmers for Sustainable Growth

The journey of Greater Kamuli Farmers Cooperative began in [2020 as a Rural Producer Organisation (RPO)]. In the early days of 2023, a group of visionary farmers in the Greater Kamuli District came together, recognizing the potential of collective action to overcome common agricultural challenges. With the desire to improve farming productivity and profitability methods, increase yields, and build a community of like-minded individuals, the cooperative was founded.
